Brief: the redesign, live (24 October 2026, story-site)
Status: built in v0.14.0. Author: story-site, from the editor's note in its session of 24 October 2026.
Follows the brief on the redesign of 23 October (mockups A to D at /admin/design/).
The editor's decision
The editor's words, from the voice note: "with those design A, B, and C, are three different audiences... A is the more the one that represents it feels like the homepage, and the ability to provide latest news. But then we should be able to have users that go into that design B and then users that go into design C... design D is for everybody, it's for the team. So I think you implement all of them."
What was built, by story-site, in this release:
- Track A, Briefing: the front page (
/), rebuilt on mockup A: the situation and the reader's thirty-second answer on a band, the four questions as tiles, right now and the core facts beside the latest, how it unfolded, three ways to read, the doors by reader. Every ledger badge, item marker and anchor of the old front page is kept. - Track B, Operations (
/ops/): the next three actions, everything that changed newest first with read marks, the evidence as charts. - Track C, Analysis (
/analysis/): the facts by status and by topic, the numbers in the news with how far each holds, the agencies on one scale, what is contested. - Track D, the team console: every
admin/page inside a console with its own sidebar menu; the admin front adds the release, the board as lanes, releases and agents. - The menu by task (Today, For you, What to do, The incident, The evidence, Risk and compliance, Stories, About) and the two dials in the bar: who you are and how much you see (Focus, Standard, Everything). The persona sends a reader to their track's home once a session (
?homekeeps the front page). - The wide layout: the bar, menu and footer run to 1,680 pixels, pages to 1,440, prose to 82 characters.
The agencies page carries mockup C's answer, scale and cards above its evidence table.
