The evidence · the pipeline
The fact pipeline: from a web page to a reader
Every fact on this site has travelled the same path: a source is found, saved and fingerprinted, read, cited by a fact with a status, built into sections, and selected for the readers it matters to. Each bar is a count at that stage, as of this release; each links to the stage itself.
The facts by status, release by release
How many facts the site carried in each release and how far each could be trusted. A fact that moves from reported to confirmed is a second primary source found; one that moves the other way is a correction.
- confirmed two or more primary sources agree, or the fact was counted from a captured file
- reported one party says so, and it has not been contradicted
- disputed the sources disagree, and both readings are shown
- contradicted a primary source says otherwise
- unverified even the reporting outlet could not check it
- p/n primary sources among the n cited; a blocked capture is counted and marked
Verification: what runs and what does not
- Runs on every build: every fact cites only sources that exist in the vault's manifest; every link resolves; every section's text is hashed and versioned; the site is byte-identical when rebuilt.
- Runs when an agent writes a fact: the status word is chosen from the sources it cites, and a fact never gets a better word than its sources give it.
- Not yet run: an independent verifier that re-reads every fact against the saved text of its sources, and a second model reading the vault. Both are on the list; neither has happened, and this line will change when they do.
Every fact has its own timeline
Each fact has a page of its own: when each of its sources was published, when it was saved, when it entered this site and every change of wording or status since, the sources it rests on as a graph, and the briefings it appears in. Start from every claim and follow the timeline link on any row.
