Economedia (Romanian), 23 October: Zitec says the PHP vulnerabilities are amplified by AI. It says they have been in PHP for more than ten years and that, per Calif, the behaviour behind the problem was flagged in a bug report back in 2020 with no follow-up; in 2024, during PHP's first external security audit, a core developer noticed early signs, as the PHP Foundation itself confirms, but no concrete exploitation path was found and the patch was delayed. This year AI models changed that: Wiz, Google, OpenAI and Calif found the flaws in August with AI help and kept them confidential until updates were ready. It also mentions a separate incident of the same week, the compromise of the private keys of eight certificates.
